Firstly I will work with you to understand your business, goals and visions for the project; and make sure we clearly define the problem that needs solving.
I begin with research and analysis, will discuss ideas and ask questions, the answers to these questions allow me to form a picture of your website requirements.
This is where I generate ideas and come up with a concept to solve your problem, out comes my sketchpad and sticky notes and I begin to form a vision for the project.
I begin to architect the information, build up a user experience and explore various routes the website can take in order to resolve the problem and fulfil your users needs.
Here ideas come to life. I take our plans, sketches and structures, combine them to create good looking user interfaces and develop a look and feel for the website.
I'll present you with the concept and clearly communicate my ideas with you, I encourage discussion and any questions you may have about the design at this stage.
Once the design is signed off concepts become reality. I write clean xhtml and css (the stuff that websites are made of) and will build you a fully functioning website.
I will thoroughly test the website before launch; ensuring users across all modern browsers and platforms enjoy a rich, accessible and seamless experience.
Since making the leap to self-employment I've been busy freelancing for various digital agencies across the North East and Cumbria. I also work independently alongside trusted freelancers creating the highest quality work and communicating with the client at all stages to ensure a great website is completed on time and to positive approval.
Working across two sister companies bdaily and bgroup I was responsible for the front-end design and development of bdaily.info, an online news service providing the North East business community with daily news via it’s website, Plasma TV network and daily bulletin.
Within this position I had the opportunity to work alongside the senior web designer within bgroup, allowing me to get involved in a variety of local and national creative campaigns; from conceptual and interface design work to front-end web development.
Within a small team of developers and programmers I was responsible for producing front-end xhtml/css, graphic concepts and identities. Building relationships with clients and working with them to tight deadlines, time estimation and time management and taking projects from brief to completion are all part of my experience in this position.
